The Sport 2000 store located in Capvern-les-Bains had a specific need: to equip its new customer parking lot with modern lighting while reducing energy costs. With a 12,000 m² area in full expansion, situated in a “Station Verte” certified town, it was essential to adopt an ecological solution that aligned with the store’s and the town’s environmental values. Sport 2000 wanted to ensure optimal security for its customers while being environmentally friendly without increasing operating expenses.
Capvern les Bains – FRANCE
To meet these needs, Sunna Design, in collaboration with its local partner Occirep, offered an intelligent solar lighting solution for the parking lot. Eight solar streetlights from the iSSL range were installed: six iSSL Maxi Area for wide lighting coverage and two iSSL Maxi Road equipped with motion sensors. These products were chosen not only for their efficiency but also for their simple and quick installation, with no heavy construction or connection to the power grid required.
By using solar lighting, Sport 2000 eliminated its reliance on the power grid for parking lot lighting, resulting in significant and sustainable energy savings. Now, the electricity bill for lighting the parking lot is $0. This allows the store to reduce operating expenses, providing a notable financial benefit. In addition to the cost savings, the solar streetlights are equipped with intelligent sensors that reduce light pollution and extend battery life by limiting lighting to necessary moments.
Sunna Design also offers Bluetooth SunnAPP to maximize management and maintenance. This app allows the store to monitor the streetlights’ performance in real time directly from a smartphone, greatly simplifying maintenance and ensuring optimal long-term performance.
The installation of this solar lighting solution in Sport 2000’s parking lot is a concrete demonstration of the company’s commitment to ecological and economically viable practices. This project shows that it is possible to combine security, modernity, and environmental responsibility while meeting the operational needs of a modern business.
