In Blanquefort, on the site of the former Ford factory, HDF Energy, a pioneer in hydrogen technologies, has unveiled the world’s first factory producing fuel cells with a capacity greater than one megawatt. Sunna Design has provided autonomous solar lighting solutions to complement this landmark industrial achievement, further supporting the energy transition efforts. This partnership highlights both companies’ shared commitment to tackling today’s energy challenges and contributing to a low-carbon economy
Blanquefort – FRANCE
HDF Energy has reinforced its environmental commitment by equipping the factory’s parking areas and circulation paths with high-performance autonomous solar streetlights. Sunna Design supplied around 20 EverGen streetlights specifically designed to meet the needs of large-scale industrial projects. The installation, managed by the local company Travaux Energie & Systèmes (TES), ensures optimal deployment and perfect adaptation to the site’s specific conditions. Thanks to their robust design, EverGen streetlights deliver consistent lighting power even in harsh weather conditions, ensuring safety and continuous operations.
The intelligent detection technology integrated into the EverGen streetlights maximizes energy efficiency by activating lighting only when motion is detected. This feature, combined with the lights’ ability to communicate with each other, enhances security by providing maximum visibility at the right time while significantly reducing energy consumption. The lights’ configuration targets specific site zones: the EverGen Single models illuminate peripheral areas with precision, while the EverGen Dual models cover parking rows, ensuring optimal light distribution. This approach reduces light pollution while maintaining high safety for employees.
This project symbolizes Blanquefort’s potential to become a dynamic industrial hub once again and play an active role in the energy transition. By adopting local, sustainable solutions, HDF Energy is reducing its infrastructure’s carbon footprint and boosting regional economic growth.
Through this collaboration, Sunna Design demonstrates that solar lighting meets the demands of industrial sites: performance, reliability, and durability. It’s further proof that French innovation can play a key role in supporting low-carbon reindustrialization.
