Saly, a beach resort along the Senegalese coast, now shines with a new light thanks to the expertise of Sunna Design in intelligent solar lighting. This collaboration with Schneider Electric has led to a significant project. It involved installing 350 Maxi Road streetlights incorporating motion detectors to light the roads connecting the center of Saly to the beach.
Saly – SENEGAL
Sunna Design has created the Maxi Road solar streetlights, which go beyond merely lighting the streets. These solutions blend with the resort’s environment, offering aesthetics and advanced functionalities. Thanks to their motion detector technology, they automatically turn on at the right moment, optimizing available solar energy and reducing light pollution, which is harmful to the region’s biodiversity.
The impact of this project is significant. Saly now benefits from reliable lighting, enhancing the safety of residents and visitors while reducing risks associated with darkness. Solar energy use actively contributes to reducing CO2 emissions, thus supporting efforts to combat climate change. Finally, the Maxi Road solar streetlights are reliable solutions that require little maintenance, allowing the municipality of Saly to make considerable long-term savings.
This project is a significant step in developing intelligent solar lighting in Senegal. But it is also a concrete example of how solar energy can effectively meet the energy needs of lighting in Africa. Whether in rural areas lacking electric grids or urban areas wishing to adopt sustainable solutions, solar energy offers a promising response. Sunna Design is at the forefront of showing that durable and aesthetically pleasing intelligent solar lighting is a reality.
