Lesparre-Médoc – FRANCE
In response to ecological and economic imperatives, the municipality of Lesparre-Médoc has embraced a pioneering approach by equipping its sports facilities with autonomous solar street lamps. The selection of Sunna Design’s UP2 and UP4 solar streetlights, produced locally, serves two primary goals. Firstly, to ensure high-performance lighting that is adaptable and manageable, meeting the diverse needs of athletes and sporting events. Secondly, to reduce the carbon footprint of public facilities by adopting green technologies.
The deployment of these autonomous solar lighting systems, conducted in-house by the Girondine community’s technical services, has allowed for swift and effective integration into existing spaces. This strategy has decreased reliance on external providers and facilitated a smooth and cohesive ecological transition, fully aligned with the municipality’s sustainability goals. This model of ecological and economical public space management sets the town as an inspiring example for other regions aiming to optimize resources and costs while benefiting the environment and society.
